Website design for fencing contractors

Fencing customers search by material and suburb — "colorbond fencing Brisbane", "timber retaining wall Melbourne", "pool fencing installation". They want to see the fence types you install and whether you handle retaining walls, because fencing and retaining often go together. The before-and-after is particularly powerful here because fence replacement is visual.

What fencing contractors customers need to see before they enquire

  • Fence types you install — Colorbond, timber, pool fencing, retaining walls

  • Before-and-after photos showing what a fence replacement actually looks like

  • Whether you handle the full job including removal of the old fence

  • A quote form that asks about fence type, approximate length, and whether it is a replacement or new install

Websites built for fencing contractors

Every screenshot is a site that is live or was delivered. No mockups, no templates.

MJP Fencing & Retaining

A full-bleed hero over a real timber fence, a before-and-after retaining gallery, and one-tap calling on mobile. The quote form asks about fence type and length upfront. The before-and-after gallery was the key decision — fence customers want to see the transformation, not just the finished product.

Melbourne Fencing Pros

A multi-page site separating Colorbond, timber, and pool fencing into their own pages, because each is a different search and a different customer. The Colorbond page leads with the finished look; the pool fencing page leads with compliance and certification.

Fencing Contractors

Bulletproof Fencing

A single-page site with a material selector — the customer picks Colorbond, timber, or pool fencing and the form adapts the questions. This reduces form abandonment by not asking pool fencing questions of a Colorbond customer.

What matters on a fencing website that does not matter for other trades

Fencing is a before-and-after trade. The old fence is often still there when the customer is searching, and seeing what a replacement looks like is what moves them from "thinking about it" to calling. Retaining walls add a structural dimension that plain fencing does not — the customer needs to know you can handle drainage and engineering, not just panels.

Before-and-after gallery

Fence replacement is visual. Showing the old fence next to the new one sells the transformation better than any finished-only photo.

Material clarity

Colorbond, timber, and pool fencing are different products with different prices and compliance requirements. Do not make the customer guess which you do.

Retaining wall capability

If you do retaining, say so and show it. Many fencing leads are actually retaining leads, and the customer will go to whoever covers both.

Old fence removal

Whether you remove and dispose of the old fence is a common question. Answer it on the site before it becomes a phone call.

Website design pricing

The same pricing applies to every trade. The difference is in what the site needs to do.

  • Single landing page$450
  • One-page website$650
  • Multi-page website (up to 6 pages)$1,400
  • Additional page$180
  • Care plan (hosting, updates, backups, edits)$59
  • Domain$50

The care plan matters more than the build price. It keeps the relationship warm and the site maintained. Added to every quote by default.

All prices are in AUD and exclude GST. Telephony, SMS, advertising spend and third-party software are charged at cost and confirmed in writing before any work begins.

Questions about fencing contractors websites

Should I show the old fence in my photos or just the finished job?
Show both. A before-and-after pair does more selling than a finished-only photo. The customer looking at their own tired fence wants to see that you have replaced one like it. The transformation is the product.
Do I need separate pages for Colorbond, timber, and pool fencing?
If you install all three, yes. They are different searches, different prices, and different compliance requirements. A pool fencing customer cares about certification; a Colorbond customer cares about colour range and wind rating. One page cannot serve both well.
How do I capture retaining wall enquiries separately from fencing?
Give retaining its own page or its own section on the form. Retaining wall customers have different questions — drainage, height, engineering — and a form that only asks about fence length will lose them.
Should I list fence pricing per metre on my website?
A starting range helps (e.g. "Colorbond fencing from $X per metre installed"), but fence pricing depends on length, access, and site conditions. Give the range to pre-qualify, then quote properly after a site visit. Per-metre pricing without context creates arguments when the site is difficult.
